ABOUT US
« Created by Fabien, Laure & Flash (their german shepherd) during a 4wd journey through the Balkans in 2016, WeOverland is a travel blog dedicated to overlanding and off-road expeditions in complete autonomy. »
Like any long journey, the road hasn’t always been smooth. Flash joined the stars. Laure left the adventure. Covid brought the world to a standstill for nearly two years. Then Russia invaded Ukraine.
Long story short, many routes suddenly closed. But overlanding is about adaptation. Changing plans, finding new tracks, and continuing forward.
So instead of stopping, we chose to rethink the project and get back to what matters most: traveling the world by 4wd, off the beaten path, and as self-sufficient as possible.Through this blog, we share our 4wd expeditions, vehicle builds, gear choices, navigation, and life on the road — with a focus on autonomy, remote places, and slow travel.
New team. New destinations. New vehicle. New colours. WeOverland is back !
Fabien – Driver & Overlander
I grew up near Paris, where I studied IT, but I quickly felt the need to look beyond borders. Travelling with my parents early on gave me a taste for movement, distance, and independence.
Right after my 20th birthday, I left France for Australia. One year learning English, driving long distances, discovering remote areas, and understanding what overlanding really means.
Back in France, I settled in the Alps for nearly 15 years while working full time in Geneva. During that time, 4wd travel, mountains, and long-distance journeys remained central to my life.
After running my own company for two years in France, I eventually chose to dedicate my time to what drives me most: overlanding, expedition travel, and life on the road.
Today, WeOverland is my way of sharing real-world experience — routes, tracks, vehicles, and lessons learned — from the driver’s seat.

Star – Expedition Co-Pilote
Born in 2021, I share Fabien’s life and follow him everywhere — from mountain trails to remote camps. He calls me Starlou.
I’m always outside, always ready. Long walks, dirt tracks, open spaces, snow, mud, and camp life are part of my daily routine.
Cold weather and snowy landscapes suit me much better than heat, but wherever the truck goes, I’ll adapt.
I quickly understood that life would be spent on the road, so when the engine starts… “Hop in, Starlou !!!”
